Bathroom Floor Plans
Published on May 15th, 2020.
Bathroom floor plans are literally the starting point of any bathroom remodeling project of any significant size. If all your project consists of is a set of new bathroom fixtures like a new toilet, a new vanity/countertop/sink combination unit then you really don’t need extensive bathroom floor plans. You merely are replacing one toilet with another, one sink unit with another.
But if your project is a complete tear out and reconstruct type of bathroom remodeling project, then you’ll definitely want to start off by constructing a set of bathroom floor plans.
It’s easier than it sounds, believe me.
What you need to do is make a freehand sketch of what the floor shape looks like in your bathroom. This is the beginning for your bathroom floor plans. Don’t worry about being too “rough” at this point. Just get the freehand sketch looking roughly like your floor plan.
Next get an assistant and a 25ft tape measure (and get a good one – cheap tools produce poor results). Take measurements of all of the different parts of your drawing and write them onto your sketch.
Now you want to get some basic graph paper, with ¼” squares, and transform your sketch into an actual scale drawing. Just take the overall size of the bathroom and the size of your paper. Now you can decide what scale your drawing needs to be. Let’s say you have a smaller bathroom – no shower or tub, just a “half bath”. It measures roughly 8ft x 8 ft. If you’re using standard 8 ½” x 11″ graph paper, you could say that one inch on the scale drawing would represent one foot of actual size.
Most drawings are done at a ¼” scale. ¼” on the graph paper equals one foot actual size.
Get your scale drawing as accurate as can be; remember it’s the starting point of your entire bathroom remodeling project. Bathroom floor plans are the foundation of your project.
Once your scale drawing is finished, you should have a dozen or so copies run off. Now you can experiment with your bathroom’s design on the copied bathroom floor plans and you’ll be off to a great start on your bathroom remodeling project. All that by making your bathroom floor plans.

I need help finding a house?
Published on September 3rd, 2010.
I want a house anywhere from 3500-4000 sq ft, 4 bedrooms
(minimum of 12 x 14 sq ft), 2 1/2 bathrooms, an office, a laundry room, nice
kitchen, and a great room. My budget is 0,000, but I also want a nice
land scape (a plan of the landscape must be included also), and have to furnish the house with appliances and all of
course, so I don’t know how much I should spend on the house. Any ideas?
p.s. I must have a floor plan of the house
~I live in the southern region
~A house for a family of 3
~How much should I spend just on the house itself (not including landscaping and furnishing, etc.) I I have only 350,000?
P.s. This is for a project for school, so this is my first time dealing with houses.

Can I remove part of tile on bathroom wall and accent with more modern tiles in order to save $ on a makeover?
Published on September 2nd, 2010.
I have this ceramic tile that’s like an off white color with very subtle gold or tan flecks (can’t tell). I don’t want to do brown, I was thinking a nice calming green BUT there are brown accent tiles through out and the entire bathroom from floor to ceiling is tile. this is a diy due to money issues.
What I had planned is doing bamboo floor, remove tiles on wall behinf toilet, sink and in front of toilet leaving tile in shower area only and removing accent tiles and replacing them. I need to replace sink, toilet and mirror, paint, etc.
Does it sound reasonable to do this?
Any suggestions appreciated.

Best fix for crumbling paint on opposite side of bathroom wall?
Published on August 26th, 2010.
This wall in my kitchen is the opposite wall of my shower, and I’ve noticed the paint cracking and crumbling with this powdery substance between the cracks.
What can I do as a quick fix? I cannot look at it any longer, however am planning to move out of the apartment in about 8 months (for other reasons). Can I sand it very well and just paint over it? I don’t care how bad it looks so long as it stops crumbling onto my floor.

How can I decorate a too much small bathroom :I can put it as a challenge for interior decorators.?
Published on August 25th, 2010.
It is only 7"X5",has a shower (without cubicle or any thing like that.so the whole floor gets wet after using it) and a wc just beside it. What can I do to improve it.?As it is an appartment I can’t change the plumbing positions. Can’t get any solution?I knew that. It is a total give up. I planned a lot. But, you know .No hope.Again, the room is dark.I think u can suggest some soothing colors for the tiles and the walls( except any shade of blue)
For those who can still give some realistic, feasible idea of renovating it :
Bravo. u are a real genius.thanks a lot
oh! I forgot to tell u that it is like a rectangular passage not even a square.
no inbuilt shelf or anything. only a tiny corner shelf and a towel rack. The major question is How can I stop the floor getting wet ?

Can I use floor leveling compound on top of backer board?
Published on August 22nd, 2010.
I am remodeling my bathroom, and plan to put 12 x 12 ceramic tiles down. My sub floor and backerboard are already in place. Unfortunately, I didn’t notice the entire bathroom slopes to the center of the house. I need to put a leveling compound down so my tub will be level and allow the water to drain out properly. Can I put the leveling compund on top of the backerboard? I used hardi backer for a backerboard, and pulling it up is NOT an option. Thanks
